Merry Christmas from the RM office.
Merry Christmas, Seasons Greetings and Happy Holidays.
It’s been an eventful and strange year and everyone is looking for something to smile about. In past years, we’d see lots of folks stopping by the office to share some festive cheer, but this year we recognize it’s best to stay home and stay safe.
To help make you smile, we thought we would share our municipal office wreath as our way of wishing you a happy festive season and we want to challenge all of the other RM offices throughout the province to share their decorations and photos and help spread the cheer.
Merry Christmas everyone.
Fall issue of SARM’s Plant Health Officer’s Quarterly Newsletter.
In some ways the global Covid-19 pandemic has made our jobs and home life more complicated and stressful just as it has simplified and strengthened other aspects of our lives. Engaging with your Plant Health Officer (PHO) need not be stressful or worrying. We are working to adapt to the needs of RM and First Nation Band (FNB) Councils, Weed Inspectors, Pest Control Officers, Land Managers, and other stakeholders. While we may need to opt out of meeting with you in person at Council meetings, we are still available to meet with staff and Councils via video conferencing and/or conference calls. Feel free to contact your PHO to make arrangements that work for everyone. Staying engaged with you is still a priority for us.
PHO-Quarterly-Fall-2020September is Septic Awareness Month
The Western Canada Onsite Wastewater Management Association and its affiliates will be promoting septic awareness during the week of September 14 to 18. The purpose of this initiative is to promote proper operation and maintenance of onsite wastewater systems.
Properly designed and maintained wastewater treatment systems effectively reduce or eliminate most human health or environmental threats posed by pollutants in household wastewater. However, they require regular maintenance or they can fail. Failing systems are expensive to repair or replace, and poor maintenance is often the culprit. Systems need to be monitored to ensure that they work properly throughout their service lives.
